Auckland Council has confirmed the average rates rise for the coming year will be just under 3%.
It signed off the annual plan on Thursday, setting the increase at an average 2.9% across businesses and households.
This year will be the second year of the transition to a single rating system, since the creation of the so-called supercity.
The council says this means that with time, all Auckland properties of similar value and use will be charged a similar amount of rates.
