An incident involving the Armed Offenders Squad in Invercargill is an end.
Police roadblocks have been cleared from the suburb of Glengary and several people are being spoken to by officers.
Police said the incident began at 3am on Friday in a dispute between neighbours in which one neighbour was accused of pointing a gun at another.
The Armed Offenders Squad surrounded the area for several hours.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
The police say it took some time for people involved in the incident to respond to negotiations.
