Air New Zealand is using the woes of Jetstar for a promotional campaign.

Consumer New Zealand has backed complaints by passengers of the Qantas subsidiary that they are being unfairly dumped from flights.

Jetstar says the passengers are arriving at the check-in too late.

Air New Zealand has offered to provide flights for $50 to Jetstar passengers denied check-in or whose flights are delayed for more than two hours.

The offer applies on domestic routes used by Jetstar from 24 June until the end of the school holidays on 19 July.
