A man accused of running a passport scam says he will fight the charges.
Gerard Otimi appeared in Manukau District Court on Wednesday on three charges of taking money by deception from five complainants.
He is also accused of issuing 5000 false residency papers in the name of a Maori hapu.
Mr Otimi represented himself in court and entered no plea. He was remanded on bail until 5 August.
