A man will appear in court on Monday after a female pedestrian was run down as police tried to stop a stolen vehicle in Christchurch.
Police say they tried to pull over the driver of the vehicle early on Sunday morning, but the driver accelerated and lost control, hitting the pedestrian and four parked cars.
Police say the two people in the vehicle took off on foot but one was caught soon after.
A 23-year-old man will appear in Christchurch District Court on Monday.
The 28-year-old pedestrian suffered fractures and cuts.
Police want to speak to anyone who saw the accident on Cashel Street about 1am on Sunday.
