Maori rugby centenary plans to be announced

The Maori Rugby Board says the celebration of 100 years of Maori Rugby won't be a simple tea and biscuits sitdown.

Critics like Billy Bush, a former captain for the Maori side, have said they believe a lack of publicity about plans for next year's centenary means a morning tea could be all that will happen.

But board's chair Wayne Peters says it's clear some people don't have enough information to back up their comments.

Details of the centenary celebrations are due to be announced by the New Zealand Rugby Union later this month.
