An official survey has found the number of broadband subcribers has topped the 1 million mark.
Statistics New Zealand says subscriber numbers in June were up 27% from the last survey it conducted in March 2008.
People using broadband now make up three-quarters of all internet subscribers.
One-fifth of broadband subscribers are now also using mobile data cards, cable, or satellite technology to connect to the internet, an increase of 53%.
