A policeman in Bay of Plenty has been attacked and injured by a man wielding a fence paling in each hand.
Officers were responding to a report of windows being smashed at a house in Katikati at 10.30pm on Friday.
Pepper spray was used, but had no effect. It took three officers to handcuff the man, who was then taken to Tauranga Hospital for observation.
