Residents opposing new dairy farms in the upper Waitaki region say they will take the fight to the Environment Court.
About 120 people attended a community meeting on Monday night about sixteen new farms which would hold almost 18,000 cows.
Meeting organiser Scott Aronsen says visitors don't come to the region to see cows and the area's natural beauty will be spoiled by the plans.
He says those against the farms will try to prevent their development.
