Irrigation bans are in force on some waterways in Hawke's Bay.
Despite a damp and cool spring, river and streams flows are now in summer recession.
Hawke's Bay Regional Council says they cover parts of the Ngaruroro River, Tukituki River, Maraekakaho Stream and Karewarewa Stream.
Warnings are in place for other waterways, including the Kauhauroa Stream in Wairoa District.
