More sporting events sought for Christchurch

Christchurch Stadium Trust is trying to secure NRL games and a match in next year's Four Nations rugby league tournament.

The trust is trying to bring in more events to the temporary AMI Stadium, to reduce expected losses of $397,000 over the next four years.

Chief executive Tim Shannahan said the trust is actively looking to host more events over the next few years and is in negotiations with the National Rugby League about games .

He said the trust also hopes to secure one of the Four Nations matches featuring New Zealand, Australia, England and one other country.
