Five trampers who activated their emergency locator beacon in the Ruahine ranges on Sunday have been found.
The group was located by a search team by the Puriri stream in the Ngamoko range just before midday on Monday.
Search coordinator Bill Nicholson says the trampers are not suffering serious injuries and they will be winched out along with the search team when the weather clears.
Sergeant Nicholson said earlier that searchers had been deployed on Sunday but high winds and rain made the search difficult. Three teams homed in on the beacon's signal on Monday.
