Two crashes on State Highway One have left one woman dead and two others trapped and injured in their vehicle.
The first crash, at about 10.30pm on Thursday, killed a woman after the car she was driving left the road and rolled into a ditch east of Marton in the Rangitikei district.
She was the sole occupant and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The second crash happened on the Taupo eastern bypass at about 5.30am on Friday.
Two people were trapped in the wreckage after their vehicle was involved in a collision with a truck.
