A toddler has died after being run over in the driveway of a house in Otahuhu.
The 18-month-old boy was critically injured when he was run over at about 2.20pm on Saturday and his parents took him to Middlemore Hospital, where he subsequently died.
Police say the Counties Manukau Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
Inspector Neil Fisher said it is too early to speculate about the cause "but I would urge parents and drivers to always check for children before driving off, and supervise children around vehicles".
