The New Zealand father of a premature baby born in China says they are a step closer to bringing her home.
Greg and Amy Hewgill's baby girl, Lily, was born three months early while the Auckland couple were on their way home from a holiday in Europe.
Mr Hewgill says since speaking with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade on Wednesday all travel documents are signed and ready to go.
He says the hospital needs confirmation that Lily's medical needs will be well attended to before they will release her.
The couple is trying to raise money to help pay for an air ambulance to fly Lily back to New Zealand.
A donations website has already raised close to $50,000 and Mr Hewgill says it was heartwarming to have so much support.
He says it could take anywhere from one week to two months before the family is all home.
