9:44 pm on 25 July 2013

Police are investigating a report that a teenage girl was dragged into a car in West Auckland.

They say a member of the public heard the girl scream for help before a tall Polynesian man pulled her into the back seat of a black hatchback.

The car, which was carrying two other people, was then driven off erratically, at speed.

Police say the incident happened near the Caltex petrol station on West Coast Road, Glen Eden, just before 11pm on Wednesday.

Detective Laura Ellis says no-one has been reported missing but the Waitakere police are taking the matter seriously and want to hear from anyone who has any information about the incident.

The girl is described as Pakeha, aged about 16 or 17 and short to medium height at about 1.6 metres.
