A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed several times during an early morning assault in South Auckland.
Emergency services were called to Rosehill, in Papakura, about 2.30am on Friday.
Counties Manukau police said a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds.
Inspector Steve Kose said there may have been more than one attacker. The investigation was in its early stages and the motive for the attack was not clear.
Police are asking for any witnesses of the attack to contact them.
