Super 15 finals fever has gripped Hamilton for the second year in a row as the Chiefs prepare to meet the Brumbies at Waikato Stadium.

The 25,000-seat Waikato Stadium is sold out for Saturday night's match. On Wednesday morning,13,000 tickets went on sale to the public and were sold out within hours.

Both teams had bruising semi-final matches last weekend, with the Chiefs beating the Crusaders and the Brumbies seeing off the South African side, the Bulls.

The head of the Chiefs franchise, Gary Dawson, says the fan support reflects just how good the team is, and regardless of which team takes the title, the local economy wins either way by hosting the final.

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie says the Brumbies should not be under estimated, describing their win against the Bulls last weekend as sharp.
