Two teenagers have appeared in court over the death of a young man hit by a car in an alleged street race in west Auckland.
The 17-year-old died after being struck by a vehicle on Scott Road in the suburb of Hobsonville about 2.20pm on Thursday.
Two young men, aged 17, were charged manslaughter and reckless driving causing death when they appeared in the Waitakere District Court on Friday.
They will reappear at the High Court in Auckland later in August.
