A nightclub doorman who posted video footage of former England rugby captain Mike Tindall supposedly flirting with a former girlfriend has been sentenced in the Invercargill District Court.
Jonathan Dixon stole the footage from the CCTV system at the Queenstown bar where he worked and posted it on the internet.
Tindall was in the South Island resort town with other members of the England side during the Rugby World Cup in September 2011.
The scandal caused an international sensation and embarrassed his wife Zara Phillips, who is the Queen's granddaughter.
Judge Kevin Phillips on Friday described Dixon as a publicity seeker who tried to sell the footage to several British tabloid newspapers out of greed.
He sentenced him to four months' community detention, 300 hours of community service and a strict night-time curfew.
Outside court, Dixon told reporters he would appeal against the conviction and intends to represent himself in court. He said given the chance, he would post the footage again and had no remorse for his actions.
Dixon will not serve his sentence until his appeal is heard.
