The names of two women charged with the murder of Indian man Amandeep Singh in Gisborne have been released.

The body of the 22-year-old was found in scrub at Kaiti Beach, more than three weeks after he disappeared on the night of 29 December last year.

On Friday, the High Court in Gisborne lifted suppression orders on Gisborne women Crystal Louise Black, 26, and 25-year-old Krystel Therese Pokai.

The women have been charged with Mr Singh's murder on 30 December, as well as attempting to pervert the course of justice, car conversion, theft and using a document to gain an advantage.

The pair have been remanded on current bail conditions and are due to reappear on 20 September when they are expected to enter pleas.
