A homeless man found beaten and unconscious on Mills Lane in central Auckland on Wednesday morning, has died.
Police have upgraded their investigation into the attack on Edwin Linder, 42, to a homicide inquiry.
A man, aged 17, is due to appear in Auckland District Court on Monday, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police say further charges are expected.
A post-mortem is also due to be carried out on Monday.
