Dunedin printing firm to cut jobs in merger

A printing firm is cutting at least 15 jobs in Dunedin as it merges two operations.

Wickliffe Solutions, which is part of the Kalamazoo printing group, bought the 130-year-old firm Taieri Print in 2012 with plans to combine it with its other Dunedin operation in Kaikorai Valley.

The company made seven staff redundant at the time.

Radio New Zealand News understands that Wickliffe is consulting with staff on proposals to cut another 15 to 17 jobs as it merges the sites.

A 10-colour printing press is to be sold as the group switches more heavily to digital printing.
