Attempts to find a 79-year-old Whangamata woman who has not been seen since Monday have so far failed.
A search of the Bowentown headland is under way for Alison Philip, whose silver Honda Accord was found at Anzac Bay in Waihi Beach at 6.30am on Tuesday.
She was last seen at her home in Whangamata.
The police say they are concerned for Ms Philip's well-being and anyone with information is asked to contact them in Waihi.
