Kapiti-Mana police have concerns for the safety of a woman missing since Sunday.
Police found Julie Ann Springer's blue Nissan Pulsar hatchback car on Grays Road in Plimmerton, near Pauatahanui Inlet, early on Monday.
They believe she walked along a coastal track bordering the inlet that leads back to Mana Esplanade in Paremata.
Ms Springer, 53, is Pakeha, of medium build, with brown shoulder-length hair.
She was last seen in Upper Hutt at 4.30pm on Sunday wearing a black beanie, a black puffer jacket, a charcoal knitted cardigan, charcoal shirt, blue jeans, black boots and burgundy pink prescription glasses.
Police say anyone with information should contact them.
