Police in Oamaru are trying to locate Paul Kevin Canning, saying they have serious concerns for his wellbeing.
He was last seen in the Lune Street area of the North Otago town about 10pm on Sunday.
Mr Canning, 47, also known as Cannon, is described as Pakeha, about180 centimetres tall, of thin build with scruffy long blond hair below his shoulders. He has a moustache and a tuft of hair on his chin.
He was last seen wearing a black beanie, a chequered blue and yellow lumberjack-style jacket, blue jeans and a T-shirt.
Police are asking people in the South Hill area to check their outbuildings for any sign of him.
