Killer recalled to prison after breaking curfew

A murderer and rapist who strangled a teenager with the strap of her handbag is back in prison for breaking a curfew.

Carl Liam Martinson was released on parole a year ago, after spending about 20 years in prison for killing Donnell Wood, 19, in Palmerston North in 1993.

He was released in August last year after undergoing psychological treatment and secured work on a dairy farm.

A recall order was made last month after Martinson visited strip clubs, breaching a curfew placed on him between 11pm and 6am.
