A 19-year-old Chilean man is dead after plunging from a Milford Sound waterfall while taking photos.
A police spokesperson says the man was one of three who climbed to an area above the 161-metre high Bowen Waterfall about 5.30pm Saturday.
He says the man was taking photos when he slipped and plunged to the base of the falls.
The man was a seasonal worker in Milford Sound.
His name will not be released until his family is notified.
