Setback shrugged off by Bain team

A legal team representing David Bain is shrugging off its setback in pursuing compensation for wrongful imprisonment.

A retrial in 2009 acquitted Mr Bain of the murders of his family but Justice Minister Judith Collins says a review found an independent investigation recommending Mr Bain receive compensation was flawed.

The High Court has now ruled against the disclosure of 250 of the minister's documents, agreeing with Ms Collins they are legally privileged.

But long time Bain supporter Joe Karam says the campaign has 600 other documents it can rely on.
