A man has been charged with the murder of a woman who was hit by a car in Kaitaia on Tuesday night.
Georgina Manuel, 28, died in hospital after being hit on Pukepoto Road.
A man, 45, is to appear in Whangarei District Court on Thursday.
Police say their inquiries are continuing and they would like to speak to anyone who picked up hitchhikers between Kaitaia and Kerikeri on Wednesday morning.
