Bay of Plenty Regional Council has allocated $40.5 million to infrastructure projects in the region.
The projects include a new innovation centre at Scion in Rotorua, a shared tertiary campus and Harbour Marine Precinct in Tauranga and the proposed transformation of Opotiki Harbour.
The funding is from a regional infrastructure fund set up by the regional council several years ago through the sale of perpetual preference shares in Quayside Holdings.
An Opotiki harbour project has been allocated $18 million, and the project to establish a tertiary campus in Tauranga allocated up to $15 million.
