The fire service has freed a woman who had been trapped in her car following a crash with a tanker in Otorohanga, in Waikato.
Shift commander Jarron Phillips says the fire service was called to the crash on Huiputea Drive at 11.30am on Saturday.
The woman was trapped for about 40 minutes while the volunteer fire crew worked to get her out.
She suffered serious injuries in the crash and has been taken by helicopter to Waikato Hospital.
