A man has pleaded guilty in Christchurch District Court to 11 charges relating to receiving stolen car parts valued at almost $37,000.

Dean Raymond Crosbie, 47, also admitted two charges under the Second Hand Dealers Act.

Large quantities of parts from stolen cars were found at Mr Crosbie's company, Independent Metal Traders in Rolleston on 8 August.

Police say he had no details of the sellers of 74 vehicles purchased over a period of 18 months.

Crosbie will be sentenced on 22 October.
