Police have found three guns as they investigate the fatal shooting of two people in south Auckland.
The bodies of Trevor Waite, 51, and Glenys Stanton, 47, were found in Mr Waite's home at Opaheke, near Drury, on Sunday morning.
Since then, police have discovered three firearms connected to the killings, which are undergoing forensic examination.
A man whom police strongly infer was involved in the killings shot himself late on Tuesday night.
Police say more DNA forensic work needs to be done before he can be formally identified due to the nature of his wounds.
