Head of Development West Coast quits

5:58 pm on 3 September 2013

The chief executive of the organisation charged with developing the West Coast economy has resigned, after commuting between Auckland and Greymouth for nearly five years.

John Chang will leave Development West Coast at the end of November.

He took up the role in January 2009 after leading the University of Canterbury's

commercialisation company for the previous four years.

Chairman John Sturgeon says Dr Chang has left the trust in a strong financial position.

Development West Coast will now begin the process of recruiting a replacement.
