Cable fault cuts power to businesses

11:13 am on 17 September 2013

Companies in an Auckland commercial area have been without power since before 7am on Tuesday because of a cable fault.

Lines company Vector has shut down power to Rosebank and Patiki Roads while it repairs the fault. Some 238 businesses were initially affected by that number has now dropped to 143.

Generators are being brought in to supply power.

Vector is asking residents in the Avondale and Point Chevalier areas to reduce their electricity consumption to take the load off the area while repairs are completed.
