One lane of the Haast Pass on the South Island's west coast has re-opened, after being blocked by a slip for a week and a half.
State Highway 6 at the pass was shut last Wednesday after a 50 metre high slip at Diana Falls.
The Transport Agency says heavy rain and further slips had postponed its reopening, however workers have cleared the debris and made sure the area is safe.
The highway is the only link between the west coast and Otago.
