A New Zealander is in hospital in Kenya after being injured in the attack on a shopping mall in Nairobi.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the New Zealand High Commission in Pretoria is in contact with the Kenyan Foreign Ministry.
MFAT says there is no information at this stage to suggest any other New Zealanders are caught in the attack.
Currently 123 New Zealanders are registered as being in Kenya.
MFAT said no further details will be released about the injured person for privacy reasons.
New Zealanders currently in Nairobi are advised to be particularly security conscious, follow any instructions issued by the authorities, avoid the Westgate shopping mall and keep family in New Zealand informed of their well-being.
