Fire destroyed a pub in Whanganui in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Central fire communications shift manager David Meikle says the Celtic Arms Inn on Victoria Avenue was well alight when firefighters arrived just before 4am.
Mr Meikle says no one was inside at the time. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
