Commerce Commission to investigate Fletchers

8:47 pm on 27 September 2013

New Zealand's largest listed company, Fletcher Building, is facing an inquiry by the Commerce Commission over its supply arrangements for a building product.

A spokesman for the Commission has confirmed the investigation into potentially anti-competitive behaviour is under way, but couldn't give more details.

Fletcher Building says it has been advised the inquiry is into its plasterboard supply arrangements with building supplies merchants.

The company says it will fully cooperate with the Commerce Commission and is confident that its supply arrangements comply with the Commerce Act.

It is not known how long the inquiry will take.
