Fire damages Blenheim warehouse

8:48 am on 5 October 2013

A fire has engulfed a large food distribution warehouse on the outskirts of Blenheim.

Blenheim chief fire officer Rob Daulton says fire services were called to the Timandra Place building just after 3am on Saturday.

He says both the building and the produce stored inside it have been extensively damaged.

An earlier report said four buildings were affected but Mr Daulton says the adjoining buildings were protected by firewalls.

He says an investigation will be carried out into the cause of the blaze.
