Quake shakes central New Zealand

A 4.3-magnitude earthquake has shaken central New Zealand on Sunday morning.

GeoNet said the quake at 7.27am was centred 30 kilometres east of Seddon at a depth of 15 kilometres.

In July and August big earthquakes centred near Seddon jolted the top of the South Island and Wellington.

The quakes hit on 21 July and 16 August and measured 6.5 and 6.6 respectively. Both were centred near Seddon, 25km south of Blenheim.
