A four-year-old boy has died after being run over by a tractor mower at a Hastings park.
Police say the accident occurred in a park on Orchard Road in Hastings just after 5pm on Tuesday.
They believe the boy was playing at the park with older cousins when he was hit by the tractor as it mowed the grass at the park. The tractor was towing a rotary gang mower.
The boy died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
The name of the boy, who is from Camberley, will not be released until all family have been notified.
The Police Serious Crash Unit and the Labour Department have both launched investigations into the incident.
