Two men have been charged after a violent attack on a man in a Nelson city park on Thursday afternoon.
The pair, aged 29 and 32, will appear in Nelson District Court charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Detective Sergeant Lex Brunning says police received several calls from people who witnessed the attack in Anzac Park just after midday.
Officers would be speaking to the 53-year-old victim who remained in Nelson Hospital on Friday with serious injuries to his face and arms.
