An Auckland teenager has admitted accidentally shooting and killing his friend earlier this year.
Zhivargo Williams shot and killed Shaun Townsley, 18, while they were drinking and shooting at cans with an air rifle at Mr Townsley's home in Manurewa in January.
Williams, 18, pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter and unlawful possession of an airgun in the High Court at Auckland on Wednesday morning.
Several people in the court to support Williams were visibly upset as he was taken away in custody.
He's been remanded until his sentencing on 29 November.
