A document has revealed the extent of a man's injuries while shopping at a Briscoes store.
The Briscoe Group pleaded guilty to a charge of causing serious harm after a customer tripped over a carton in an aisle at its Manukau store in December 2012.
It has been fined $75,000 and ordered to pay a further $4000 to the injured customer, on top of $5000 the customer has already received.
While the Briscoe Group has not revealed the extent of the man's injures, Radio New Zealand News has obtained a document with details.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment document says the customer tripped over display goods stacked on the floor and fell, injuring his left hip and fracturing his femur.
The document says the man was hospitalised for a total of 10 days and faces ongoing rehabilitation.
