Hutt Valley police are investigating after the body of a 24-year-old man was found at a house in Wainuiomata near Wellington.
The man's body was found on Tuesday at a Puriri Street house which was put under police guard.
Police were on Wednesday carrying out a scene examination.
They say the post-mortem will determine the scope of the investigation, and whether they upgrade the death to a homicide.
The name of the man has not been released.
