Dementia patient missing in Auckland

A 71-year-old man who suffers from dementia has gone missing from his retirement home in Three Kings in Auckland.

John Pope is known to catch public transport to different parts of the city.

Police say he is wearing a tracking device but the battery might have gone flat.

They say Mr Pope is pakeha, has short grey hair and is of solid build, and was last seen wearing a cream coloured cardigan, dress pants and grey walking shoes.

Mr Pope is diabetic and requires daily medication.
