An Upper Hutt school has reopened after it was locked down on Monday while police searched for a man seen roaming the streets with what appeared to be a shotgun.
The area around Heretaunga College was cordoned off and the college was shut with all staff and students kept inside while the police investigated about 2.30pm.
A police spokesperson says a BB gun was located in a property near the school, but the person who had it still has not been found
