Police are trying to piece together the final movements of a 31-year-old man whose body was found in the Hutt River at Petone on Wednesday.

A member of the public reported seeing the body in the water near the Shandon Golf Club about 8.30am on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson Nick Bohm says specialist search groups including divers conducted a scene examination of the area near the Waione Street bridge, but that hasn't turned up anything.
Police know that the man was last in contact with a friend about 6pm on Tuesday. They are asking people to come forward with any information about suspicious activity in the suburb of Moera over the past day.
The death is being treated as sudden and post-mortem will be carried out on Thursday.
